The turkey, mushrooms, and rosemary really work together well in this recipe!  It comes together pretty quickly and you probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen.  Goes great with wild rice or mashed potatoes!

Turkey Mushroom Patties with Gravy

(makes about 6 servings)

For the Patties:

1 1/3 pounds of ground turkey

3 tablespoons of olive oil, divided

8 ounces of crimini mushrooms, chopped (divided)

1 teaspoon of crushed garlic

salt and pepper

1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup of Italian breadcrumbs

1 egg, lightly beaten

few dashes each of onion powder and garlic salt

For the Gravy:

2 tablespoons of butter

2 tablespoons of flour

1 14.5 ounce can of chicken broth (about 2 cups)

1-2 tablespoons of milk

few dashes of rosemary

salt and pepper to taste

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet.  Add chopped mushrooms and crushed garlic and season with salt and pepper.  Cook until soft and translucent, then remove to a small bowl.

In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, cooked mushrooms (reserving 1/4 cup),and seasonings.  Form into about 6 patties (depending on the size you want) and flatten lightly with the palm of your hand.  In the same skillet you cooked the mushrooms, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add half of the patties.  Cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 7 minutes on each side.  Move to a serving dish and cover to keep warm, or, place in a baking dish and turn oven on to warm.  Cook remaining patties and remove.

In the same skillet, melt butter over low heat.  Once it is completely melted, sprinkle flour over top then whisk until smooth.  Cook about 3 minutes.  It will become very thick and look like a paste.  Slowly stir in chicken broth and milk and turn heat up to medium.  Add rosemary, salt, and pepper and cook until heated through.  When ready to serve, top turkey patties with gravy and a spoonful of the remaining cooked mushrooms.
